What are
madrichim
?
Madrich
(singular) is the Hebrew word for “guide.”
Madrichim
will:
ATTEND A MANDATORY ORIENTATION ON THURSDAY, September 5th at 7:00 P.M.
Be compensated for their work (payment will occur in two installments) or can earn community service hours
Help teachers get supplies and organize students and lessons, tutor students, help in the office
Be expected to arrive and leave on time and keep absences to situations of illness and the like
Be willing to work in person according to CDC guidelines or work virtually in an online setting
NOT use cell phones during Synagogue School
Enhance their experience in Synagogue School through their own continued learning (in training sessions)
Continue to learn about Judaism, leadership, Jewish education, professional conduct, and teaching techniques as part of their training
Attend
mandatory
madrichim
meetings
and occasional Professional Development with Faculty throughout the year
(see dates below)
o Be compensated at $5 per meeting. If not in attendance, $5 will be docked from your paycheck
o All Madrichim meetings will be in person at RSNS
Be evaluated on their general progress and job performance
Commit to work ONE OR MORE days a week, depending on the Synagogue School’s needs and the
madrich’s
abilities,
consistently on the same schedule every week

Be assigned to a classroom & teacher, the office, as a Hebrew tutor, or to work one-on-one with students
Available days to work are
Tuesdays 4:00-6:30 p.m

Thursdays 4:00-5:30 p.m
. (Thursdays are dependent on registration outcomes);
Fridays 5:00-6:30
pm once a month;
Sundays 9:30 am-12 pm
once a month;
Saturdays, 8:45-11:15 a.m
. three times during the year
We strongly encourage everyone to participate in Kesher Hadash and Bros Hodesh/Girls Rosh Hodesh/Moving Traditions. We are confident that you would greatly benefit from those programs.
However, this is not required for your participation in the
Madrichim
program.
You can apply for a
madrich/a
position in the Synagogue School by completing this form as soon as possible. Morah Rebecca will contact you with your placement information.
